Yesterday, Oscar showed me what it had learned from nearly 2,000 of my own messages and the edits I keep making to its drafts.
Man and Machine: Teaching an Agent When to Stop Polishing

I wanted to know whether a personal agent could learn my voice without sanding off the parts that make it mine. The review found some very ordinary habits. I start close to the point. I use plain words. I leave a real doubt open when the evidence is not settled. And I keep deleting the tidy little endings an agent likes to add.
We turned those corrections into a writing guide, then saved the exact changes I made to recent posts. If I replace “should not” with “shouldn’t,” join three choppy lines into one sentence, or remove a polished phrase, the system now keeps the reason as well as the edit. That gives Oscar something better than a prompt that simply says “sound like Dave.”
The part I want to preserve is ownership of the thought. An agent can help me find the point, check the facts, and clear away the clutter. It shouldn’t make my judgment neater, stronger, or more certain than I meant it to be.
That is how I want a personal agent to learn me: from what I accept, what I change, and what I refuse to let it say for me.
